Daniela Francesca Virdis (dfvirdis@unica.it) is an Associate Professor of English Language and Translation at the University of Cagliari. She is the Chair of Poetics And Linguistics Association (PALA) for the years 2025-2027, and a member of the International Ecolinguistics Association (IEA) Advisory Group. She has published widely on the language of English Jacobean plays and treatises about witchcraft and demonology, the language of contemporary TV series and media, language & sexuality in Victorian erotica, national-ethnic stereotypes, and Late Modern fictional and non-fictional prose from a historical pragmatic perspective. She is currently researching ecostylistics and metaphor theory.
