Dr. Elisa Ramazzina (elisa.ramazzina@uninsubria.it) is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Insubria, Italy, contributing to the project “Exploring Old Age in Eighteenth-Century English Medical Texts: Terminology, Definitions, Representations.” She earned her Masters in “European and American Cultures” from the University of Pavia and holds a Ph.D in “Germanic Philology” with a specialisation in “Old English” from the same institution. She has published on medieval English and Renaissance literature, exploring the intersections between literature and lexicon, rhetoric and pragmatics. Her work investigates the interplay between literature and the history of science, particularly the history of medicine, elemental and humoral theories and their applications, as well as the history of balneotherapy.
