Martina Guzzetti (martina.guzzetti@unimi.it/ma.guzzetti@uninsubria.it) is a fixed-term lecturer in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Milan and the University of Insubria. She holds a PhD in “Linguistic, Literary and Intercultural Studies in European and Extra-European Contexts” from the University of Milan. Her research explores the intersection of language and gender from a diachronic perspective, with a particular focus on how women have (re)shaped their representation through language over time. She has a strong interest in historical news discourse, as well as in historical lexicography and the popularisation of medical knowledge, with an emphasis on pregnancy-related texts. Her work draws on interdisciplinary approaches to uncover the linguistic strategies used in shaping public understanding and identity across the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
