Bianca Del Villano

Bianca Del Villano (bdelvillano@unior.it) is Professor of English Language and Linguistics at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”. She holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Turin and a PhD in English Linguistics from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Her research interests span pragmatics, stylistics, cognitive and literary linguistics. She is currently working on (im)politeness in early modern English texts; on cognitive metaphor in early modern scientific writing; and on religious discourse in a diachronic perspective. Her publications include Using the Devil with Courtesy. Shakespeare and the Language of (Im)politeness (Peter Lang, 2018). She is the Director of the Argo Centre (Studies in Argumentation, Pragmatics and Stylistics).
