Beatrice Ragazzini

Beatrice Ragazzini (beatrice.ragazzini3@unibo.it) is currently a Research Fellow at the Department of Interpreting and Translation of the University of Bologna, where she also teaches Terminology as an Adjunct Professor. She holds a Ph.D. in Translation Studies from the University of Bologna and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, with a thesis on terminology and the historical origin of terminological processes in the formation of 19th – century scientific disciplines in various languages. She holds an MA in Specialised Translation from the University of Bologna, with a thesis on terminology theory applied to the periodisation of English medieval architecture. She is currently investigating how classifying, naming, and defining specialised concepts contributed to knowledge advancement in several scientific domains and languages – mainly, but not exclusively in the 19th century.
